Home Care Specialist

The Home Care Specialist will provide various Homemaker, Personal Care, Health Maintenance and Protective Oversight services to assist in helping the consumer with their Activities of Daily Living.

Job Duties:

  • Provide services such as Homemaker, Personal Care, Health Maintenance and Protective Oversight
  • Homemaker services include assistance with general household activities needed to maintain a healthy and safe living environment. Duties may include routine light housecleaning (dusting, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen areas), meal preparation, dish washing, bed making, laundry and assistance with shopping activities
  • Personal Care services help a client in their own home to meet their physical, maintenance and supportive needs. This assistance may require doing the task for the individual or prompting the client to perform the task. Duties may include bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing, feeding, exercising, positioning
  • Protective Oversight provides the feeling of security and dependability of a dedicated care giver to the client. The purpose of this service is to offer company and friendship while assisting the client with basic living activities. Duties may include reading to them, playing games, accompanying the client for a walk outside, letter writing and overall monitoring of the home and the client’s ability to reside in the home safely.
  • Refers clients to community services and assists in applying and arranging appointments as needed


Education/Experience Requirements:High school or GED diploma with a willingness to serve others. Some experience preferred.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have smart phone or tablet with access to wi-fi or cellular data
  • Proficient use of technology and various software programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. This includes written and verbal communication and strong listening skills
  • A strong desire to positively impact the lives of others
  • Willingness to work with clients of all ages. Infants to the elderly
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Must demonstrate a team building attitude and skill set.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to the job

  • Sympathetic to the mission of the organization
  • Must pass required background checks and have a valid Colorado driver’s license free of serious offenses
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and carry minimum requirements of auto insurance
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to present valid documentation showing eligibility for employment in the United States
  • Must have the ability to pass physical examinations in accordance with state regulations and drug testing if required and must not have a history of child/adult abuse or neglect


Physical Requirements:

Demonstrate the ability to:

  • Lift, position and transfer clients
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Bend over and pick up items from the floor
  • Kneel and squat
  • Climb ladders
  • See, hear and react to sounds and various situations
